1. Ensure system is off and properly cooled.
2. Drain existing oil from the gearbox.
3. Clean the gearbox interior if necessary.
4. Refill with Shell Omala S3 GP oil to recommended levels.

They are formulated for use where ultra-high levels of extreme-pressure performance are required. Shell Omala S3 GP oils are designed for use in enclosed industrial gear systems subject to severe operating conditions, including high shock loading applications. They can also be used in older gear systems that may be damaged or misaligned, providing additional protection. These oils are suitable for lubricating bearings and other components in circulating and splash-lubricated systems. For normal load applications, other Shell Omala ‘G’ series oils are recommended, and for automotive hypoid gears, the appropriate Shell Spirax oil should be used.
