Over the past two decades, technology improvements in the areas of high pressure hydraulic power centres has led directly to a vast improvement in the capabilities of modern hydraulic fluids. The basis for development of modern hydraulic fluids has recently taken into consideration the importance of our environment and the use of readily renewable energy sources. Rapidly accelerated research based upon these criteria has culminated in the release of PLANTOHYD 68.
PLANTOHYD 68 is a biodegradable hydraulic fluid, which meets the demands of a conventional modern hydraulic lubricant, with the additional benefits of minimising impact on the environment. PLANTOHYD 68 can be classified as HETG fluid according to ISO/CD 6743-4.

PLANTOHYD 68 is environmentally harmless being greater than 96% biodegradable (CEC-L-33-T-82). One of the many benefits of the PLANTOHYD 68 technology is that it will float on water and is subsequently easily retrieved by skimming. An added benefit to the environment is that when a spill does occur, it does not penetrate the earth to the underground water tables but rapidly biodegrades in the surface layers of the soil.
As with mineral based products, PLANTOHYD 68 has a normal operational life of approximately 2,000 hours. However, when coupled with CENT, Fuchs condition monitoring tool production and maintenance costs will diminish due to a significantly improved maintenance methodology.
